Formerly part of Lango district, Apac district with an area of 6541 sq. km lies north of Lake Kyoga. It is bordered by Gulu in the north, Nakasongola in the south, Masindi in the west and Lira to the east.
Tourist Attractions: Despite lack of good infrastructure the district is endowed with Lake Kwania, Lake Bisina and the scenic Lake Kyoga.
Climate: Apac district’s lowest point is about 700 m above sea level with the highest point being at 1383 m. The rainfall averages between 1000 mm and 1500 mm per annum with temperatures ranging over 25ºC.
