The local currency of Uganda is the Uganda Shilling which has denominations of 50, 100, 200, 500 (coins); 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000 and 50,000 (paper money). Technically the denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10 shillings in coin denomination though still legal tender, inflation has eliminated them from circulation.
