Visitors from areas infected with yellow fever and cholera require certificates of inoculation. Malaria and Bilharzia are endemic.

A visitor can import duty free spirits. And currency declaration forms are not required.

The local currency of Uganda is the Uganda Shilling which has denominations of 50, 100, 200, 500 (coins); 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000 and 50,000 (paper money).

Some credit cards are accepted by afew tour operators and in the major hotels with the Visa Card and American Express the most widely accepted.
