Mt. Moroto

At the foothills of Mt. Moroto are fossil sites that have made Uganda one of the places I the world where the cradle of human kind is traced.  This site has revealed the famous Morotopithecus bishop fossil dating 20 plus million years.

Other ancient fossil sites include Mt. Napak 19-20 ma and Bukwa 17.5ma in eastern Uganda, Nkondo 4.5ma, Kasio Tonya, Kikorongo, Karugutu and Kazinga Channel in western Uganda all dating 2.5ma.
