Gorillas share 98.4 of their genetic material with humans. In Uganda they are confined to Mgahinga and Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park.The total number of Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi is approximately 340.

 

This number is considered to be half of the 720 mountain gorillas left in the world. Gorilla trekking provides over 60% of tourism revenue to Uganda thereby making it the country’s star attraction.
