Lake Mburo National Park

Situated in the south near Mbarara, Lake Mburo National Park with an area of 371 sq. km is the closest to Kampala and offers a refreshing stop over when traveling to or from the western parks or reserves.

This park is the only National Park to contain an entire lake and is also the best place to see the gigantic eland as well as zebra, impala, topi and bird species with a count of approximately 313.

Access: The Park is about 230 km south west of Kampala and usually takes about 3.5 hours drive from Kampala.

Where to Stay: Recommended accommodation facilities include Mihingo Lodge and Mantana Luxury Tented Camp or alternatively drive to Mbarara and stay at Lake View Hotel or Rwizi Arch Hotel.
