Semliki National Park

Situated in the west about 50 km from Fort portal, this park lies in the Semliki Valley site of the Sempaya hot springs. The park got its name from the river that forms the Congolese border.

It harbours about 400 species of birds and many mammals ranging from chimpanzees and elephant to the pygmy antelope.

Access: Located in Bundibugyo district, Semliki National Park can be accessed by air or road. From Kampala the drive to Semliki is through Fort portal.

Where to Stay: Semliki Safari Lodge is the only option in this area. However, one can still visit the park and later drive and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel or Fort Motel in Fort Portal.
