Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Set off from Kampala at 8:00 am and head for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop over at the Equator line for photo shots and for lunch enroute, the drive will take a minimum of 6 hours.
Queen Elizabeth National Park set in the western rift valley boasts a remarkable variety of flora and fauna. The park offers a remarkable range of habitats – tropical forest, grassy plains, lakes, rivers, a zone of old volcanic craters and a vast bird diversity of 612 recorded species. Over night stay.
Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Rise early and take on a morning game drive. Look out for lions, Elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, the comical warthogs, Antelopes and with luck the elusive Leopard could be spotted. Return to the lodge for late breakfast.
In the afternoon take on a unique launch cruise along Kazinga Channel – one that joins Lakes George and Edward. The launch cruise passes through presumably the highest concentration of hippo in Africa and other mammals are a common sight as they drink at the waters edge.
The birdlife is abundant and colourful. Later return to the lodge. Over night stay.
Day 03: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kampala
Late breakfast then visit one of the Salt Lake to see how salt is mined locally and its different grades. You learn the participation of the local people, especially the women.
Return to the lodge for late breakfast. Check out and start the drive back to Kampala with a stop over for lunch and at any of the crafts display center’s enroute in case you need to buy souvenirs.
